ON
A
PERSONAL
NOTE...
It finally became clear to me that this work is my calling and I have been ‘in training’ for it all my life. If I had been tuned into it, my first clue would have been that by age 10, peers were phoning me unsolicited for advice about how to deal with things. My parents objected to the phone being grafted to my ear and now decades later my
family simply accepts it as just another appendage!
The journey from there to here has shaped me to better serve my clients with clarity, compassion and commitment. I am a fierce advocate for people discovering what they want and then making it happen. That led me to become an assistant ombudsperson at university, a psychology teaching assistant, and a personal development trainer at a career college.
My years as television broadcaster taught me to ask powerful questions, ‘hear’ the essence of a person beneath their words, and develop my keen intuition ‘to know’ the truth of what’s really going on.
A passion for creation and innovation launched my interior design company- and the design and implementation of multi-million dollar residential projects internationally that garnered both business and design awards. However, my true gift to my clients was not design.
It was the effective management and motivation of the various stakeholders and their complex web of relationships- to successfully complete projects on time and on budget.
It was this realization that opened my eyes to professional coaching.
I have a pioneering entrepreneurial spirit that doesn’t readily accept NO. Instead I seek to make possibility a reality. Clients are drawn to my ability to inspire their own genius and potential so that they can create what they want in their own lives, but hadn’t believed was possible.
Personally, I lead a full diverse life. I value my family time, salsa dancing, long walks along the water, travel, renovation projects, gardening, and contributing to initiatives that develop individuals to lead successful lives. I golf badly but appreciate the humour and its metaphor for life. My children are my source of inspiration and commitment to make a significant difference in the world for future generations.
